Preparing for your session

Every effort is taken to ensure the safety and comfort of clients in all of my sessions. The guidance below will help us both prepare for the most productive and enjoyable therapy work. Providing you with the very best singing bowl experience is my goal.

I strive to build an empathetic healing connection with each client through the bowls’ vibrational energy. May you, in turn, develop a deep sense of knowing self, with empathy and with love, as you do your healing work.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions regarding the information below or if you feel there is something I have not covered.

Get ready to tap in to your Roots and Echoes, and I look forward to our session together!

Intake Form and Liability Waiver

The more I know about your state of body, mind and spirit, the better I am able to work with the bowls to achieve your greatest good. To that end, I ask that you please complete the confidential intake form and liability waiver. Please either email them to me or print them and bring them to your first session.

What to Wear

For your session, please wear comfortable, somewhat fitted clothing, such as for yoga or for leisure.

  • No metal

  • Pants – Should be long and free from snaps, buttons and zippers.

  • Tops – Should be comfortable and should also be free from snaps, buttons and zippers. Can be long sleeved or short sleeved.

  • Layers – Please dress in layers if it’s chilly, as it is best to remove outer layers like a sweatshirt or sweater before bowl work on the body.

  • Bras – Ladies, please wear a sports bra or camisole without metal underwires, hooks or snaps.

  • Socks – Please wear or bring socks.

Fragrances

My practice is synthetic fragrance free.

According to a number of sources, more than 95 percent of the chemical compounds in synthetic fragrances have a petrochemical origin. Chemicals such as benzene derivatives, aldehydes, phthalates and other known toxins are capable of causing everything from cancer to varying levels of allergies.

In my case, I am very sensitive and react with headaches and hives when faced with synthetic fragrances.

For your benefit as well as my own, I ask that you refrain from using artificial fragrances when coming for your session. This includes colognes, perfumes, harshly scented detergents, deodorants, shampoos, soaps and fabric softeners.

Natural, pure essential oils and products containing them are fine.

Please let me know if you have any allergies to natural fragrances.

If you are interested in learning more about the petrochemicals in synthetic fragrances, you may want to view the EPA’s Safer Choice Criteria for Fragrance-Free Products and the Environmental Working Group’s cosmetics database.

Animals and Therapy

A pre-existing bond is said to exist between humans and animals — in my case, dog!

Contact with domestic animals can aid in healing many mental and physical issues, from reducing blood pressure and improving cardiovascular health to releasing endorphins that produce a calming, peaceful feeling. Just an animal’s presence can provide an extra sense of comfort.

I have a 10-year-old, seven-pound Yorkshire Terrier named Sherman who loves the Himalayan Bowls and joins me in my healing work by finding a spot to lay quietly in the room. He is hypoallergenic, gentle and loving. Please let me know in advance if you prefer that he not join us for your session.
